The Argo float given by the Principality to Mauritius deployed at sea

The BGC Argo float officially handed over by the Principality of Monaco to Mauritius on 22 November 2022 was released into the sea on 25 November at 4.30pm. This float has been adopted by seven Mauritian classes who will follow its journey as part of the Adopt a float educational programme.

The Argo float given by the Principality to the Seychelles has been deployed at sea

The BGC Argo float officially handed over by the Principality of Monaco to the Seychelles was released into the sea on 2 November 2022 at 1am, about sixty miles east of the Saya de Malha Bank. It was deployed with two other multi-instrumented profiling floats by the team of Hervé Claustre, co-leader of the international BGC Argo programme.

A look back at the Seychelles stopover

From Aldabra, the S.A. Agulhas II called at the Seychelles from 29 to 31 October 2022. A look back at these three days in the Seychelles. These three days were marked by official and school visits, as well as by operations linked to the departure of certain teams and the arrival of new ones.

Princely visit

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco was present in Aldabra and on the S.A. Agulhas II from 24 to 26 October 2022. A visit marked by the signing of a letter of intent between the Seychelles Island Foundation, the Scientific Centre of Monaco and the Oceanographic Institute

Intense activity in Aldabra

4 days of intense activity have been carried out in Aldabra since the arrival of the Indian Ocean expedition of Monaco Explorations on the site. The various scientific operations have been carried out at a steady pace.

Arrival in Aldabra

The S.A. Agulhas II arrived in Aldabra on Wednesday 19 October 2022 at around 6:30 am. The relevant scientific teams disembarked in the morning.

S.A. Agulhas II: second stopover in Reunion

One sunset and one sunrise later after Mauritius, the S.A. Agulhas II arrived in the town of Le Port in Reunion Island on 13 October. The presence of the ship in the town of Le Port aroused a lot of interest and Monaco Explorations team welcomed on board local personalities and journalists, school groups and associations throughout the afternoon.

S.A. Agulhas II: first stop in Mauritius.

The S.A. Agulhas II arrived in Mauritius in the middle of the day on 10 October for a two-day stopover, the official departure point for the Monaco Explorations expedition.

Inauguration of the Curieuse Marine Education Area

Curieuse Island. Seychelles

As part of the Pareo project, the educational marine area on Curieuse Island in the Seychelles was inaugurated on 28 October 2022 with the children of the Baie Ste-Anne school in Pralin. This project to raise awareness of coral reef protection, coordinated by the IRD, is supported by Monaco Explorations.
